"I got the idea for PICLIF through my personal experiences of loss,” said Mike Stafiej, Founder and President of PICLIF. “A friend wasn’t able to attend the funeral service for someone we knew and the app was born from there. No matter where you are located, you should be able participate in a memorial.”

PICLIF, short for picture life, allows friends and family to collaborate on a memorial for their loved one regardless of their location. Users who download the mobile app or visit the website are able to view what others have posted as well as add their own photos and memories.

Mobile and web applications built in React Native

PICLIF’s innovative software combines all of the memories into a slideshow that celebrates the loved one’s life at their funeral service and for years to come. This product is unique to the market because it takes so little time to set up and organize – taking stress away from the family while they’re busy planning other aspects of the funeral. No other product allows funeral homes to effortlessly create and display a memorial slideshow, especially when compared to the days of printed photographs on poster boards.

Mike approached Rivers Agile in 2016 with his business idea. Due to his technical background, he knew that he wanted his applications to be built in React Native – developing one codebase for two mobile apps and one web app would make future enhancements and maintenance easier and cost effective. After discussing the project with several vendors, Mike chose to partner with Rivers Agile because of the team’s knowledge in React Native and goal-orientated approach to project management and engineering. PICLIF launched in January 2017, and continued to evolve through May 2017 based on real world user experiences. The PICLIF team has pushed out one significant update every month and are very pleased with the progress.
